European Open: Munar advances to second round

Spaniard Jaume Munar edged out Dutch qualifier Tim van Rijthoven 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (4) to advance to the second round of the European Open at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp on Tuesday.

Van Rijthoven lead 5-2 in the third set, serving once for the match, before finally losing.

Munar, ranked No 55, will play the winner of the match between French qualifier Luca Van Assche and Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, the No 8 seed, next.
