Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 4 seed, beat Estonian wildcard Mark Lajal 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2) to advance to the last 8 of the European Open at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp.
Fils, ranked No 38, will face Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Antwerp Open, Lajal, ranked No 229, won against Spaniard Jaume Munar (6-3, 6-4).
