Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut advanced to the last eight of the European Open by beating Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (2), 6-4 at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp.

Bautista Agut, ranked No 60, will face the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 3 seed, and Hungarian Marton Fucsovics next.

In the previous round of the Antwerp Open, the 36-year-old Spaniard won against French qualifier Luca Van Assche (6-2, 6-1).

Etcheverry, ranked No 35, won against French wildcard Richard Gasquet (7-6 (4), 6-4) during the first round of the Antwerp Open.
