German Daniel Altmaier beat Belgian qualifier Gilles Arnaud Bailly 6-4, 6-3 to reach the second round of the European Open at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp.
Altmaier, ranked No 84, will play No 5 seed Jiri Lehecka next.
