Eastbourne Open: McDonald advances to last four

American Mackenzie McDonald advanced to the semi-finals of the Eastbourne Open by winning against Swede Mikael Ymer 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday afternoon.
McDonald, ranked No 64, will play Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, next, after winning five games in a row to take the match against Ymer.

Ahead of his victory, the American beat Italian Marco Cecchinato (6-3, 6-3) and top seed Taylor Fritz (7-6 (3), 7-6 (8)).
Ymer, ranked No 61, defeated Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 9 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) and wildcard Liam Broady (6-2, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Eastbourne tournament.
