Eastbourne Open: Giron edges past Cerundolo to make second round
Marcos Giron defeated Cerundolo 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4) and will face the winner of the match between Liam Broady and Yoshihito Nishioka in the next round

American Marcos Giron moved into the second round of the Eastbourne Open by winning against Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 5 seed, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4) at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club.
Giron, ranked No 46, will play the winner of the match between wildcard Liam Broady and Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka next.
