Dutch Open: Griekspoor wins the trophy
Tallon Griekspoor won the final on Sunday evening against Jordan Thompson.
Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 6 seed, beat Australian Jordan Thompson 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 6-3 to win the Dutch Open title at the Autotron Rosmalen in s-Hertogenbosch on Sunday evening.
In the previous rounds of the’s-Hertogenbosch tournament, Griekspoor, ranked No 38, defeated Swede Mikael Ymer (6-2, 3-6, 6-3), Australian Alexei Popyrin (6-3, 6-2), Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 4 seed (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (6-4, 7-5).
Thompson, ranked No 103, beat French qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (6-4, 7-6 (3)), Canadian Milos Raonic (7-6 (4), 6-1), Frenchman Adrian Mannarino (5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-2) and lucky loser Rinky Hijikata (7-6 (5), 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
