Dubai Open: Rublev advances to final

Russian Andrey Rublev, the second seed, advanced to the final of the Dubai Open by winning against German Alexander Zverev, the No 7 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (9) at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Friday afternoon.
Rublev, ranked No 6, will play the winner of the match between Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, next.
The Russian defeated Serb Filip Krajinovic (7-5, 6-2), Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (1-6, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (3)) and Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (6-3, 7-6 (3)) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Zverev, ranked No 16, beat Czech Jiri Lehecka (4-6, 6-3, 6-4), Australian qualifier Christopher O’Connell (7-5, 6-4) and Italian Lorenzo Sonego (7-5, 6-4).
