Dubai Open: Qualifier Halys beats Bautista Agut to book spot in last eight

Quentin Halys won against Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Wednesday afternoon and will play Italian lucky loser Luca Nardi in the next round

French qualifier Quentin Halys defeated Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6 (5), 6-4 to reach the last 8 of the Dubai Open at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre.

Halys, ranked No 77, will face Italian lucky loser Luca Nardi next.

The Frenchman edged out Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 3 seed (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round of the Dubai tournament.

In the first round of the Dubai tournament, Bautista Agut, ranked No 53, edged out Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4)).
