Draper powers into Mexican Open semi-finals
Jack Draper won against Miomir Kecmanovic 6-2, 6-2 on Thursday night and will face the winner of the match between Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 3 seed, and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, in the next round
Jack Draper reached the last four of the Mexican Open by winning against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic 6-2, 6-2 at the Princess Mundo Imperial Resort in Acapulco on Thursday night.
Draper, ranked No 50, will play the winner of the match between Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 3 seed, and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, next.
Jack Draper beat American Tommy Paul, the No 7 seed (6-0, 6-4) and Japanese lucky loser Yoshihito Nishioka (6-3, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Acapulco tournament, Kecmanovic, ranked No 53, won against Argentinian wildcard Diego Schwartzman (4-6, 6-3, 6-1) and German Daniel Altmaier (6-4, 6-4).
