Delray Beach Open: Qualifier Svajda upsets Purcell to move into second round

American qualifier Zachary Svajda defeated Australian Max Purcell, the No 8 seed, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center.

Svajda, ranked No 146, will play the winner of the match between Italian lucky loser Flavio Cobolli and Japanese Taro Daniel next.
