Delray Beach Open: McDonald reaches semi-finals

Mackenzie McDonald edged out Michael Mmoh 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the last four of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center on Friday.
McDonald, ranked No 56, will face the winner of the match between American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino next.
In his first meeting with Mmoh since 2017, Mcdonald converted six of seven break points and won 18 of 25 second serve return points against 87th-ranked Mmoh to improve to 9-4 on the season.
Ahead of his victory, Mackenzie McDonald defeated Japanese Taro Daniel (6-2, 6-2) and Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, the No 5 seed (6-3, 3-6, 6-2).
Mmoh, ranked No 87, won against wildcard Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) and Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 3 seed (7-5, 3-6, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
