Delray Beach Open: Fritz edges close to title defence, moves into quarter-finals
Taylor Fritz won against Nuno Borges 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Thursday night and will play Australian Rinky Hijikata in the next round

American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, won against Portugal’s Nuno Borges 7-6 (5), 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center on Thursday night.
Fritz, ranked No 9, will play Australian Rinky Hijikata next.
Borges, ranked No 46, defeated Canadian lucky loser Gabriel Diallo (6-4, 7-6 (1)) in the previous round of the Delray Beach tournament.
