Danish teenager Rune upsets Travaglia in Kitzbuhel
The 18-year-old was too good for the Italian as he booked his place in the second round
Holger Rune
Danish starlet Holger Rune continued his speedy progression through the senior ranks as he upset world No 88 Stefano Travaglia 6-3, 6-4 on Tuesday to reach the second round of the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel.
The 18-year-old needed just an hour and 20 minutes to claim the second-best win of his career by ranking, only bettered by his win over then world No 29 Benoit Paire in Santiago earlier this year.
Rune’s reward is a second-round clash with Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, who beat Federico Delbonis of Argentina 6-2, 6-4.
