Japan’s Taro Daniel advanced to the second round of the Indian Wells Masters by beating Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan 6-4, 6-1 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Wednesday night.

Daniel, ranked No 76, will face No 10 seed Alex de Minaur next.
