Dallas Open: Tiafoe battles into second round

American Frances Tiafoe, the No 5 seed, edged out Japanese Taro Daniel 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Dallas Open at the Ford Center at The Star on Tuesday night.

Tiafoe, ranked No 18, will face the winner of the match between Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka and American Brandon Nakashima next.
