Dallas Open: Second seed Paul through to last four
Tommy Paul won against Dominik Koepfer 7-5, 6-3 on Friday evening and will play the winner of the match between Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 7 seed, and American Ben Shelton, the No 3 seed, in the next round
American Tommy Paul, the second seed, won against German Dominik Koepfer, the No 8 seed, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the semi-finals of the Dallas Open at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Friday evening.
Paul, ranked No 15, will face the winner of the match between Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 7 seed, and American Ben Shelton, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the American defeated Japanese Taro Daniel (6-3, 6-2).
Koepfer, ranked No 60, won against American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4, 7-6 (5)) and Australian Rinky Hijikata (6-3, 7-6 (5)) in the previous rounds of the Dallas tournament.
