Dallas Open: Mannarino books spot in semi-finals after Duckworth retirement
Adrian Mannarino benefited from the abandonment of James Duckworth (6-2, 3-1) and will play Marcos Giron in the next round
Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 4 seed, reached the semi-finals of the Dallas Open when Australian James Duckworth retired at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
Mannarino, ranked No 17, led 6-2, 3-1 when Duckworth, ranked No 106, pulled out.
The 35-year-old Frenchman will face Marcos Giron next.
In the previous round of the Dallas tournament, Adrian Mannarino benefited from the forfeit of Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka.
The Australian beat American Zachary Svajda (7-6 (3), 6-1) and American Christopher Eubanks, the No 5 seed (7-6 (3), 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Dallas tournament.
