Dallas Open: Koepfer beats Hijikata to make last eight
Dominik Koepfer beat Rinky Hijikata 6-3, 7-6 (5) at the Dallas Open. He’ll play American Tommy Paul, the second seed, in the next round

German Dominik Koepfer, the No 8 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Dallas Open by winning against Australian Rinky Hijikata 6-3, 7-6 (5) at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
Koepfer, ranked No 60, will play American Tommy Paul, the second seed, next.
In the previous round of the Dallas tournament, the German defeated American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4, 7-6 (5)).
Hijikata, ranked No 88, beat American wildcard Ethan Quinn (6-4, 6-4) in the first round of the Dallas tournament.
