Croatia Open: Sonego overcomes cramps and matchpoints to reach second round
The Italian will face Frenchman Alexandre Muller in the next round

Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego moved into the second round of the Croatia Open by edging out Croat wildcard Mili Poljicak 6-2, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (9) at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag on Monday evening.
In a dramatic late contest, Sonego saved two matchpoints in the deciding set tiebreaker and even suffered from cramps during the last few points before coming through in three hours and 18 minutes.
Sonego, ranked No 54, will play Frenchman Alexandre Muller next.
