Alexandre Muller beat Matteo Arnaldi 7-6 (8), 6-4 on Sunday evening and will face the winner of the match between Croat wildcard Mili Poljicak and Italian Lorenzo Sonego in the next round

Frenchman Alexandre Muller won against Italian Matteo Arnaldi, the No 8 seed, 7-6 (8), 6-4 to advance to the second round of the Croatia Open at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag.
Muller, ranked No 103, will play the winner of the match between Croat wildcard Mili Poljicak and Italian Lorenzo Sonego next.
