Croatia Open: Popyrin bows out in opening round
Jakub Mensik defeated Alexei Popyrin 6-3, 6-2 on Monday. He’ll play the winner of the match between Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 5 seed, and Croat Duje Ajdukovic in the next round

Jakub Mensik advanced to the second round of the Croatia Open by winning against Australian Alexei Popyrin 6-3, 6-2 at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag on Monday.
Mensik, ranked No 81, will face the winner of the match between Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 5 seed, and Croat Duje Ajdukovic next.
