Tiafoe straight sets into last 16 at Citi Open

American Frances Tiafoe, the No 10 seed, defeated wild card Christopher Eubanks 6-3, 7-6 (2) to advance to the last 16 of the Citi Open at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Wednesday.

Tiafoe, ranked No 27, will face Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 8 seed, next.

Tiafoe had received a first round bye in the tournament while Eubanks, ranked No 156, edged out Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi (3-6, 6-3, 7-5).
