Citi Open: Qualifier Svajda sets up second round clash against top seed Fritz
The American edged out Max Purcell 4-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5 in the first round on Tuesday
American qualifier Zachary Svajda moved into the second round of the Citi Open by edging out Australian Max Purcell 4-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5 at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Tuesday.
This was the biggest win for the 21-year-old American. Svajda, ranked No 233 in the world, will face top seed Taylor Fritz next.
