Canadian wildcard Denis Shapovalov defeated Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the second round of the Citi Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington on Monday night.
Shapovalov, ranked No 139, will face No 6 seed Adrian Mannarino next.
