Citi Open: Nakashima beats Atlanta finalist Vukic to reach second round

The American will face No 15 seed Andy Murray in the next round

American Brandon Nakashima reached the second round of the Citi Open by winning against Australian Aleksandar Vukic 7-6 (5), 7-6 (9) at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Tuesday.

Vukic was coming off a runner-up finish in Atlanta over the weekend where he lost to top-ranked American Taylor Fritz.

Nakashima, ranked No 70, will play No 15 seed Andy Murray next.
