Citi Open: Kovacevic battles past Nishioka to move into second round
Aleksandar Kovacevic beat Yoshihito Nishioka 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 on Tuesday evening and will face No 11 seed Roberto Carballes Baena in the next round

American Aleksandar Kovacevic beat Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the Citi Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington.
Kovacevic, ranked No 82, will face No 11 seed Roberto Carballes Baena next.
