Italian qualifier Mattia Bellucci won against American Mackenzie McDonald 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) to reach the second round of the Citi Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington on Monday evening.
Bellucci, ranked No 125, will face No 15 seed Alex Michelsen next.
