Cincinnati Masters: Shelton wins early popcorn match against Eubanks
Ben Shelton edged out Christopher Eubanks 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 on Sunday evening and will play No 4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the next round
Ben Shelton edged out Christopher Eubanks 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Cincinnati Masters at the Linder Tennis Family Center on Sunday evening.
It was a tight encounter between two big servers, and unsurprisingly came down to who played the pressure points better. Shelton was able to save five of six break points, while capitalising on two of the three opportunities he had to break Eubanks‘ serve.
Shelton, ranked No 41, will face No 4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas next.
