Cincinnati Masters: Monfils comes back against Norrie to continue hot form

Frenchman Gael Monfils won against No 13 seed Cameron Norrie 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Cincinnati Masters at the Linder Tennis Family Center on Tuesday afternoon.

The former world No 6 did well to navigate this match, considering that his first serve went missing. With Monfils only making 49 percent of first serves, the veteran was forced to rely on his endurance instead, outlasting Norrie in the longer rallies to claim victory.

Up next, Monfils, currently ranked No 211, will face the winner of the match between Australian Alex De Minaur and American J.J. Wolf.
