Cincinnati Masters: Mannarino halts Auger-Aliassime’s comeback
Adrian Mannarino defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday night.

Frenchman Adrian Mannarino advanced to the last 16 of the Cincinnati Masters by defeating Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 12 seed, 6-4, 6-4 at the Linder Tennis Family Center on Tuesday night.
Just 24 hours after Auger-Aliassime claimed a statement win over Matteo Berrettini and appeared to have rounded a corner with his poor form this season, the Canadian has crashed out of the Cincinnati Masters in straight sets at the hands of the world No 32.
Mannarino, on the other hand, is having a breakout year, if that’s possible for a 35-year-old. The Frenchman is continuing to be a threat outside of the grass court season, proving that he’s more than just a one-trick pony on the ATP Tour.
Mannarino, won against Richard Gasquet (6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the Cincy Open. In the first round of the Cincy Open, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 14, beat Italian Matteo Berrettini (4-6, 6-2, 6-3).
