I will try to let my tennis do the talking.
Stefanos Tsitsipas
“I knew that coming into the match it’s never easy to play against him,” said Tsitsipas, who is 5-2 lifetime against Isner and has won five in a row. “The most important thing is to try and stay patient. There will be a lot of situations that you can’t control…. It all came down to very few points at the end. I was just able to hang in there and make one more ball and not give him much to work with.”
Things have not gone as well for the world No 7 against Medvedev, who leads their head-to-head series 7-2.
“He’s one of the best,” Tsitsipas assured. “For me, I’m gonna have to play my game. I’ve been playing good so far. An obstacle like Daniil is never easy, but I’m gonna try to be concentrated. I will try to approach my game in the most precise way and the best manner, and let my tennis do the talking.”
Medvedev, the world No 1, advanced earlier in the day with a 7-6(1), 6-3 defeat of Taylor Fritz.
