Tiafoe defeats Rune to make Cincinnati Masters final

American Frances Tiafoe reached the final of the Cincinnati Masters by edging out Dane Holger Rune, the No 15 seed, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4) at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Sunday night.
Tiafoe, ranked No 26, will face Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (6-3, 7-6 (6)), Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 14 seed (6-3, 6-2), Jiri Lehecka (6-4, 6-7 (10), 7-6 (5)) and Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 5 seed (6-3 ret.).
Rune, ranked No 16, defeated Italian wildcard Matteo Berrettini (2-6, 6-1, 6-4), Portuguese qualifier Nuno Borges (6-3, 7-6 (8)), Frenchman Gael Monfils (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Jack Draper (6-4, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
