Western & Southern Open: Thompson takes down Isner in first round

Australian qualifier Jordan Thompson defeated American wild card John Isner 7-6(5), 7-6(2) to move into the second round of the Western & Southern Open on Monday evening.

Thompson, ranked No 55, will face top seed Carlos Alcaraz in the round of 32.
