Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina won against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Cincinnati Masters at the Linder Tennis Family Center.

Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 23, will face second seed Novak Djokovic next.
