Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, moved into the final of the Cincinnati Masters by winning against Pole Hubert Hurkacz 2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 at the Linder Tennis Family Center on Saturday night.
Alcaraz, ranked No 1, will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the No 16 seed, and Serb Novak Djokovic, the second seed, next.
The 20-year-old Spaniard beat Australian qualifier Jordan Thompson (7-5, 4-6, 6-3), American Tommy Paul, the No 14 seed (7-6 (6), 6-7, 6-3) and Australian qualifier Max Purcell (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Cincy Open, Hurkacz, ranked No 20, defeated Australian qualifier Thanasi Kokkinakis (7-6 (2), 3-6, 7-6 (1)), Croat Borna Coric, the No 15 seed (5-7, 6-3, 6-3), Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed (6-3, 6-4) and Australian lucky loser Alexei Popyrin (6-1, 7-6 (8)).
