Safiullin beats Wawrinka to book spot in China Open second round
Roman Safiullin will play Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, in the next round

Russian lucky loser Roman Safiullin won against Swiss wildcard Stan Wawrinka 6-3, 6-4 to reach the second round of the China Open at the Olympic Green Tennis Center in Beijing on Friday.
Safiullin, ranked No 69, will play Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, next.
Sinner defeated Chilean Nicolas Jarry (4-6, 6-3, 6-1) in his previous match.
