China Open: Jarry battles past Arnaldi to make quarter-finals
Nicolas Jarry defeated Arnaldi 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-3. He’ll play the winner of the match between Alexander Zverev and Davidovich Fokina in the next round
Chilean Nicolas Jarry defeated Italian qualifier Matteo Arnaldi 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the China Open at the Olympic Green Tennis Center in Beijing.
Jarry, ranked No 23, will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the No 8 seed, and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina next.
The Chilean won against Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed (6-4, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Beijing tournament, Arnaldi, ranked No 48, won against American qualifier J.J. Wolf (6-2, 6-2).
