Alert: Alcaraz beats Sinner to lift China Open trophy

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed, won the China Open title by edging out Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (3) at the Olympic Green Tennis Center in Beijing on Wednesday.
Alcaraz, ranked No 3, defeated Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (6-4, 6-4), Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (6-1, 6-2), Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 7 seed (7-5, 6-2) and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Beijing tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Sinner, ranked No 1, beat Chilean Nicolas Jarry (4-6, 6-3, 6-1), Russian lucky loser Roman Safiullin (3-6, 6-2, 6-3), Jiri Lehecka (6-2, 7-6 (6)) and Chinese wildcard Yunchaokete Bu (6-3, 7-6 (3)).
