Chile Open: Tirante sees off stern challenge from Fonseca

Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante advanced to the second round of the Chile Open by winning against Brazilian wildcard Joao Fonseca 7-5, 7-6 (3) at Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile on Tuesday evening.
Tirante, ranked No 100, will play French qualifier Corentin Moutet next.
