No 4 seed Alejandro Tabilo defeated Tomas Barrios Vera 6-2, 7-5 to move into the last eight of the Chile Open at Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile on Thursday night.
Tabilo, ranked No 51, will face Italian wildcard Luciano Darderi next.
Barrios Vera, ranked No 111, won against Cristian Garin (7-6 (3), 7-5) in the previous round of the Santiago tournament.
