Chile Open: Etcheverry through to second round

Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 5 seed, advanced to the second round of the Chile Open by defeating Frenchman Hugo Gaston 6-2, 6-3 at the Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile on Tuesday evening.

Etcheverry, ranked No 43, will play Chilean wildcard Cristian Garin next.
