Chengdu Open: Mpetshi Perricard reaches second round
The Frenchman will take on German Yannick Hanfmann or Japanese qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki in the next round

Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, the No 7 seed, reached the second round of the Chengdu Open by edging out Chinese wildcard Fajing Sun 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-4 at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Mpetshi Perricard, ranked No 51, will face the winner of the match between German Yannick Hanfmann and Japanese qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki next.
