Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov won against Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan 7-5, 7-5 to move into the second round of the Chengdu Open at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Thursday.
Kotov, ranked No 106, will face top seed Alexander Zverev next.
