Chengdu Open: Jarry snaps seven-match losing streak to move into quarter-finals
The Chilean edged out Lukas Klein 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-4 in the second round on Friday
Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 3 seed, edged out Slovak Lukas Klein 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Chengdu Open at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Friday.
Jarry, ranked No 28, will face Russian qualifier Alibek Kachmazov next. The Chilean came into this week on a seven-match losing streak and had not won a match since reaching the Rome Masters final in May.
This is his sixth ATP Tour quarter-final of the 2024 season and the 25th overall one of his career.
Klein, ranked No 127, won against Australian Adam Walton (7-6 (3), 6-4) in the previous round of the tournament.
