Chengdu Open: Dimitrov advances to last eight
Grigor Dimitrov beat Juan Pablo Varillas 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday night and will face Australian Christopher O’Connell in the next round

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 3 seed, defeated Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last eight of the Chengdu Open at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Saturday night.
Dimitrov, ranked No 20, will play Australian Christopher O’Connell next.
In the previous round of the Chengdu tournament, Varillas, ranked No 70, won against Chinese wildcard Jie Cui (6-1, 6-3).
