Brisbane Open: Dimitrov books spot in last eight

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the second seed, reached the last eight of the Brisbane Open by defeating Australian wildcard Aleksandar Vukic 6-2, 7-6 (5) at the Queensland Tennis Centre on Wednesday.
Dimitrov finished the match in an hour, 25 minutes on the back of 12 aces and two break-point conversions.
The defending champion won 94 percent of his first-serve points, not allowing his opponent a break-point opportunity.
Dimitrov, ranked No 10, will play the winner of the match between Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 8 seed, and American Alex Michelsen next.
The 33-year-old Bulgarian won against German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann (7-6 (5), 6-3) in the previous round of the Brisbane tournament.
In the previous round of the Brisbane tournament, Vukic, ranked No 68, beat Belgian David Goffin (6-2, 6-3).
