BMW Open: O’Connell beats third seed Zverev, through to quarter-finals

Australian Christopher O’Connell moved into the last eight of the BMW Open by beating German Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed, 7-6 (2), 6-4 at the MTTC Iphitos complex in Munich on Thursday.
It is his second-ever career win against a player ranked in the Top 20.
O’Connell, ranked No 82, will face Italian qualifier Flavio Cobolli next.
The Australian won against Frenchman Ugo Humbert (6-4, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
