BMW Open: Hanfmann secures clash with top seed Rune in second round

German wildcard Yannick Hanfmann won against Brazilian Thiago Monteiro 6-7 (3), 7-6 (5), 6-2 to move into the second round of the BMW Open at the MTTC Iphitos complex in Munich on Monday afternoon.

Hanfmann, ranked No 112, will face top seed Holger Rune next.
