Berrettini to return in Arizona next month with wild card entry
The Italian has not played on the tour since the US Open in August
Former Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini will return to action at next month’s Arizona Tennis Classic after receiving a wild card entry into the event which begins on March 12th.
The Italian, now ranked No 125 due to his inactivity, has not played on the tour since the US Open in August due to a right ankle injury.
The former world No 6 was due to play the Australian Open in January but pulled out before his first round match against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Arizona Tennis Classic is ATP Challenger Tour 175 event. Berrettini has played in Arizona twice in the past and won the title in 2019.
Other players entered into the tournament include former world No 1 Andy Murray and American Chris Eubanks.
